Midtown Cottages - The Rear Garden & Car Parking Area

The lawned area is very popular at the end of a long day! This photograph was taken fairly early in the morning - by late afternoon the sun will have come round behind the camera position to bathe the lawn in a warm glow (always assuming it's not pouring with rain!). An ideal time and place to relax with a glass of wine and a good book after a strenuous day on the fells or investigating Keswick's coffee shops!

Dog Owners

I'm often asked if the garden is totally enclosed. The brief answer is no. Behind where I'm standing to take this photo is a driveway which leads out onto the village road. There is no gate. We're quite happy to sit on the lawn with a glass of wine and have our boys running free as we're confident they won't run off out of control, round the corner and down the drive.

We do ask that your dog is not allowed into the garden unattended so that any little indiscretions can be scooped immediately and not left for other guests to find the hard way! Be honest, if he or she asked to go out at 3:00am, it was pouring with rain and the garden was fully enclosed and dog proof, would you follow with umbrella and poo bag?
